Android Engineer

About the role

AppLovin is building a next‑generation social media platform that enables creators to share meaningful content and interact in real time from their smartphones. As an Android Engineer you will help shape the core mobile experience, from content creation tools to interactive features and real‑time communication.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable architecture and core mobile features for complex applications.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver intuitive, high‑quality user experiences.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of the Android application.
• Maintain clean, modular code and uphold high engineering standards.
• Ship reliable code in a fast‑paced iteration cycle.

Required profile

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 1+ year of native Android development experience.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Passion for building products in a 0→1 environment.

Required skills

• Kotlin and/or Java.
• Deep knowledge of the Android SDK and modern architecture patterns.
• Experience debugging and maintaining large‑scale mobile codebases.
• Performance optimization and Android platform capabilities.
• Familiarity with video editing or media processing features (encoding, rendering, filters, trimming).
• Experience with real‑time messaging or chat systems (WebSocket, RTC, push notifications).
