AP Accountant

About the role

A global player in the commodities and energy sector, represented by Michael Page, is hiring an AP Accountant in Singapore. The role supports Accounts Payable operations and contributes to finance process improvement and automation initiatives, working closely with finance stakeholders to ensure smooth payment processing.

Key responsibilities

• Support end-to-end Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing and payment preparation.
• Coordinate with internal teams to validate and process payments.
• Respond to payment-related queries and liaise with business units, external counterparties and banking partners.
• Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes and assist in automation initiatives using tools.
• Provide support for reporting requirements, including surveys, reconciliations and finance-related submissions.
• Contribute to process improvement projects, system enhancements and broader accounting initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, finance operations or a related accounting environment.
• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated interest in process improvement, automation or finance transformation initiatives.
• Detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Familiarity with an ERP system.
• Strong Excel skills; exposure to VBA, Power Query, Python or SQL is advantageous.
