Application Developer, Institutional Banking Group Technology

About the role

DBS is hiring an AVP/SA Application Developer for its Institutional Banking Group Technology, within the Group Technology function. The role leads the build-out of capabilities on the Ecosystem Platform roadmap, defines software standards and patterns, and provides technical leadership to development teams while working closely with architects.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the build-out of capabilities on the Ecosystem Platform roadmap and raise the bar of engineering practices.
• Define and own software standards, patterns, methodologies and practices, including software quality and agile delivery.
• Project manage and allocate development capacity to complete scheduled tasks.
• Turn requirements into architecture and blueprints, decomposing monolithic applications into microservices and APIs in a cloud/DevOps environment.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance through the SDLC, get the design accepted by the team, and run POCs to define patterns and frameworks.
• Manage the migration from in-house infrastructure to the cloud-based platform (AWS/VPC).
• Act as the bridge between Enterprise/Application Architecture and Delivery, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture roadmaps.

Required profile

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience designing and building large-scale applications in CI/CD, pair programming and test-driven development.
• Experience building delivery capability from the ground up and leading balanced onshore/offshore teams.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins and Bitbucket.

Required skills

• AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, IAM, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway)
• Cloud Foundry platform and deployment
• OAuth 2.0 / SAML 2.0, relational and NoSQL data modelling
• Java Spring Framework / Spring Cloud and scalable microservices
• Infrastructure components such as web/app servers, connection pooling, SLB and firewalls
• Certifications in AWS, Java or J2EE are an added advantage
