Application Developer – Java & AWS

About the role

The Technology Division at BCS is looking for an experienced Application Developer to design, build and maintain mission‑critical banking applications. You will work across the full development lifecycle, delivering secure, scalable solutions on both AWS cloud and on‑premise environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prototype Java‑based web applications using Spring Boot, Spring Batch and Struts.
• Build proof‑of‑concepts and support deployment, testing and release processes.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and ensure compliance with security best practices.
• Perform performance, capacity and scalability assessments and resolve engineering issues.
• Maintain and optimise Oracle 19c, MS SQL and DynamoDB databases, including SQL query tuning.
• Integrate applications with identity providers such as Keycloak and AWS Cognito.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience developing critical enterprise applications.
• Strong background in Java (Java 17/21) and modern web frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, ECS, CloudWatch).
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
