Architect / Senior Architect

About the role

JTC is hiring an Architect / Senior Architect to carry out architectural design and design management for its building products, aiming for user-centric, integrated and sustainable workplaces. The role also covers design management for CentEx projects so that user requirements and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out in-house design simulations and conceptual designs for building products that optimise land and space while balancing performance, maintenance and cost.
• Develop designs based on a deep understanding of customer needs and industry trends, with an environmentally sustainable approach across the product life cycle.
• Provide technical input on architectural design and guide external consultants so that detailed designs and construction meet user and operational requirements.
• Manage architectural design consultants and help turn Ministry/Agency user requirements and technical considerations into design proposals during design and construction.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and other divisions and external agencies to integrate the multi-disciplinary design process.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Architecture.
• At least 5 years of relevant education or experience in architectural design projects.
• Registered Architect with the Board of Architects Singapore is beneficial.
• Certifications such as Green Mark Manager/Professional, LEED AP, BIM Manager, Universal Design, ABC Waters Design, Design for Safety, Landscape Design, Façade Inspection, Wayfinding/Signage Design, Water-sensitive Urban Design or Data Analytics are beneficial.
• Creative flair, good presentation and writing skills, and ability to work independently and in teams.

Required skills

• Drafting and modelling: Autodesk Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, CFD, Autoturn.
• Parametric design: Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit Dynamo.
• Simulation: CFD, daylighting studies.
• Graphic software: Adobe CS.
• Data visualisation: Microsoft Excel, Qlik Sense, Tableau.
• Programming languages (beneficial): C++, C#, Python, Java.
• Knowledge of relevant Agency Acts, regulations and guidelines (URA, NParks, LTA, PUB, NEA, SCDF, BCA).
