Architectural Associate – Lead Design Projects

About the role

Join SAA as an Architectural Associate and take ownership of projects from concept through delivery. You will work alongside a global team of passionate designers, shaping urban environments that enrich people’s lives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all project phases – pre‑design, design development, tender documentation, contract management and delivery.
• Lead feasibility studies, site and zoning analyses, and ensure technical compliance.
• Collaborate with the Design Director to develop conceptual and detailed designs, material specifications and align them with client briefs, budgets and timelines.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, including architectural layouts, details, specifications and tender contracts.
• Supervise and coordinate the project team, providing guidance to meet objectives and deadlines.
• Act as primary liaison with clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders, chairing meetings to resolve issues.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, oversee approvals and direct technical officers on compliance matters.
• Handle project administration – fee proposals, contracts, payments and budget tracking.
• Coordinate technical inputs from consultants, review construction documents and conduct site inspections.
• Take on additional management support tasks and foster collaboration across teams.

• Strong ability to manage design quality, cost, schedule and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership capability to guide and develop project teams.
