Assistant Associate - Cybersecurity Advisory

About the role

PwC's Assurance line of service, in its TMT X-Sector Cybersecurity team, helps clients build trust in their digital and technology-enabled businesses. The team covers services such as penetration testing, red teaming and source code review, and works with clients on data loss or misuse, market responsiveness, system and process implementation, and third-party cybersecurity risk management. As an Assistant Associate, you will be exposed to a broad scope of work.

Key responsibilities

• Penetration testing: identify and exploit vulnerabilities to help clients secure their assets and protect sensitive data.
• Red teaming: simulate adversary tactics, techniques and procedures, including covert operations and long-term access to compromised systems.
• Cybersecurity assessments: host configuration reviews against industry benchmarks, source code and architecture reviews, and cybersecurity risk assessments.
• Regulatory compliance review: assess compliance with regulations such as the Singapore Cybersecurity Act, MAS Technology Risk Management Guidelines, MAS Cyber Hygiene and related codes of practice.
• Data privacy and protection: advise clients on the impact of their business and data processes under regulations such as the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act and GDPR.

Required profile

• Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology student from a reputable local or overseas university.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, service-oriented and committed to teamwork and excellence.
• Good co-curricular activities record.
• Keen to develop themselves in the profession.

Required skills

• Knowledge of security testing tools such as Kali Linux, Covenant, Metasploit, nmap and Burp Suite.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
• A penetration testing certification such as CEH, CRT or OSCP is an advantage.
• Experience in CTFs, public vulnerability disclosures, CVEs, published research or offensive security tools is an advantage.
