Assistant Cook

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Cook to support our kitchen team in preparing and cooking food items according to restaurant recipes and standards. You will work closely with chefs and cooks, ensuring that all dishes meet our quality and hygiene expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items, following established recipes.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, peeling, measuring, and portioning as required.
• Support chefs and cooks in daily kitchen operations and food preparation activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food preparation areas.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Monitor ingredient levels and inform supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in food preparation or kitchen operations is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
