Assistant Cook – Kitchen Support Role

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team across Singapore. You will work closely with the Cook to ensure smooth food preparation, maintain hygiene standards, and support daily kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with food preparation tasks such as cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients.
• Clean and sanitise food preparation areas in line with hygiene and safety codes.
• Wash, disinfect, and store cooking utensils and equipment properly.
• Buy, weigh, and store ingredients and supplies.
• Operate kitchen appliances and tools including knives, mixers, ovens, and cutters.
• Manage inventory, unload deliveries, and organise the storeroom.
• Participate in initiatives to improve service quality and staff productivity.
• Develop new menu items and adapt existing recipes, including North Indian dishes.
• Monitor kitchen expenses, food costs, and staffing within budget limits.

Required profile

• Ability to work shift patterns as required.
• Experience or willingness to prepare North Indian cuisine.
• Professional attitude and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Required skills

• Food preparation techniques (cutting, chopping, peeling).
• Operation of kitchen appliances and equipment.
• Inventory management and stock handling.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
