Assistant Director, Academic Matters

About the role

The Undergraduate Programmes Office at Nanyang Business School is looking for an experienced Assistant Director to lead academic matters for its undergraduate programmes. The role will coordinate curriculum planning, manage student administration processes and work closely with faculty, school leadership and external partners to enhance the student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee course planning, forecasting and execution for NBS undergraduate programmes, the Accelerated Pre‑University Programme and new academic initiatives.
• Manage academic administration processes such as major selection, programme changes, scholarships and awards.
• Provide curriculum planning advice to students on electives, MOOCs, minors and second majors.
• Build and maintain relationships with academic divisions, industry partners and professional bodies, supporting work‑study degrees, internships and industry‑linked opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Associate Dean and senior staff to develop and implement academic policies, governance frameworks and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Supervise and develop team members within the academic arm of the Undergraduate Programmes Office.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and at least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education.
• Proven supervisory experience with strong people‑management and mentoring capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage senior stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self‑motivated, adaptable, detail‑oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
