Assistant Director, ACMV

About the role

The Office of Development and Facilities Management at Nanyang Technological University is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to lead the ACMV (Air‑Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation) section. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable and energy‑efficient operation of campus ACMV systems while supporting the university’s sustainability objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead campus‑wide ACMV operations, overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance to guarantee service reliability.
• Manage maintenance contracts, monitor contractor performance, enforce service standards and ensure compliance with contractual and operational requirements.
• Oversee fault management, operational risk mitigation, service disruption response and recovery actions.
• Direct asset renewal, replacement and infrastructure upgrade projects, reviewing technical proposals and engineering submissions.
• Drive continuous improvement of system reliability, maintainability, resilience and energy performance.
• Mentor and develop the ACMV team, providing technical guidance and prioritising project delivery.
• Build strong partnerships with internal users, consultants, contractors and senior management while promoting safety and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in ACMV or mechanical building services covering operations, maintenance, contract administration and project delivery.
• In‑depth knowledge of ACMV systems, asset lifecycle management, contract administration, local engineering codes and operational risk management.
• Proven leadership, stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Demonstrated capacity to handle multiple priorities, make sound engineering decisions and lead operations in a live campus environment.
