About the role
NTU Student Affairs Office (SAO) is looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to serve as the Assistant Director, Student Community Engagement. The role supports the Deputy Director in planning, executing and continuously enhancing student life initiatives across the campus, aiming to enrich the experience of NTU’s 34,000 students.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and oversee 60+ community and interest‑based student clubs.
- Implement the strategic plans and programmes of the Student Engagement and Campus Vibrancy Division.
- Lead year‑round planning and delivery of activities for student clubs.
- Operationalise the NTU Community Engagement Framework to achieve defined outcomes.
- Drive innovation in co‑curricular programming across student organisations.
- Collaborate with student leaders, partners and stakeholders to keep programmes on schedule and within budget.
- Mentor and guide student leaders in their development and competency building.
- Set annual priorities, develop portfolio strategy and align club activities with student development outcomes.
- Establish new partnerships and manage complex stakeholder engagement, including external partners such as the People’s Association.
- Design, implement and refine the community engagement participation strategy, success metrics and governance.
- Oversee capacity‑building approaches for clubs, including leadership development and collaboration readiness.
- Cultivate relationships with internal NTU offices, faculty advisors and external community organisations.
- Lead inter‑club and cross‑office collaborations.
- Oversee governance, compliance, budgeting and grant utilisation for programmes.
- Establish portfolio‑wide KPIs, reporting standards and consolidate insights for MOE/NTU reporting.
- Supervise, coach and develop a team, ensuring clear KPIs and workload allocation.
Required profile
- Degree in any discipline with at least 10 years of relevant experience and a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering multi‑stakeholder initiatives at scale.
- Strong programme design capability with a track record of measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Governance mindset comfortable with budgeting, compliance and grant stewardship.
- Resourceful, analytical, operationally strong and detail‑oriented with solid problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable with digital systems and workflows.
- A genuine passion for youth development.
