Assistant Engineer, Power

About the role

The Assistant Engineer, Power will be responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing SMRT's power system equipment. The role involves leading a team of technical officers to ensure reliable power supply across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair all power system equipment in compliance with quality procedures.
• Lead and supervise technical officers for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Plan maintenance schedules and staff rosters in coordination with the Engineering Maintenance Manager.
• Provide technical advice, keep drawings, diagrams and manuals up‑to‑date.
• Assist in engineering and safety analyses, investigations and testing.
• Oversee corrective maintenance, upgrades, modifications and major repairs.
• Prepare and submit completion reports and monthly overtime reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and attend permit‑to‑work processes.
• Perform rotating shift duties, driving duties and conduct home‑based safety talks.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
• Ability to lead by example and work effectively in a team.
