Assistant Manager, Actuarial

About the role

Cigna is looking for an Assistant Manager, Actuarial to support APAC valuation tasks for Australia and Singapore. The role covers internal and external reporting, reserving, IFRS 17 and data preparation, and develops independent ownership within a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Support internal US GAAP reporting, local statutory reporting (e.g. ALCO and ORSA) and annual reserve and expense studies
• Help set reserves for financial close, run claims and loss ratio movement analyses and understand the key drivers
• Support APAC reporting such as monthly PYD computation and analysis
• Support IFRS 17 reporting, including implementation and transition to business-as-usual, and meet internal and external audit requirements
• Prepare data and help develop and maintain claims/actuarial databases and analytic dashboards
• Propose and implement improvements to reserving processes while keeping robust controls and documentation
• Take part in actuarial reserving projects and ad-hoc initiatives with other business functions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or a related field
• Associate level or candidates actively pursuing actuarial qualifications from the Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or comparable bodies
• 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience
• Good knowledge of valuation and reporting processes
• Good understanding of health insurance, claims processes and healthcare systems; IFRS 17 is a plus
• Strong communication, presentation and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
