Assistant Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis – Insurance

About the role

This position joins the Planning & Analysis team of a leading insurer in Singapore. It offers a broad FP&A exposure within a lean finance function, working directly with senior stakeholders on financial analysis, IFRS 17 performance monitoring, management reporting and project cost management.

Key responsibilities

• Support KPI monitoring and analysis of business and financial performance, including IFRS 17‑related results.
• Analyse financial results, investigate trends and variances, and provide insights to management.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting and planning activities across the organisation.
• Monitor project expenditure, budgets and financial performance for ongoing initiatives.
• Develop and enhance project cost‑benefit monitoring frameworks.
• Prepare management and regional reporting with analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
• Partner with Finance, Actuarial, IT and other functions to gather data, challenge assumptions and support decision‑making.
• Support the creation of dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility of KPIs and project costs.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analysis and finance processes.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of experience in insurance finance, FP&A, financial reporting or Big 4 insurance audit.
• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry; life insurance experience is a plus.
• Exposure to IFRS 17 / FRS 117 and understanding of insurance financial results.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, KPI monitoring, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Excellent analytical abilities and the capacity to explain performance drivers.
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder‑management skills.
