Assistant Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (Insurance)

About the role

We are partnering with an established insurer in Singapore to strengthen its Planning & Analysis team. As an Assistant Manager, you will work in a lean finance function, gaining direct exposure to senior stakeholders while handling financial analysis, IFRS 17 performance monitoring, management reporting, and project cost management.

Key responsibilities

• Support KPI monitoring and analysis of business and financial performance, including IFRS 17‑related results.
• Analyse financial results, investigate trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and planning activities across the organisation.
• Monitor project expenditure, budgets and financial performance for ongoing business and transformation initiatives.
• Develop and enhance project cost‑benefit monitoring frameworks.
• Prepare management and regional reporting with analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, IT and other functions to gather data, challenge assumptions and support decision‑making.
• Support the creation of dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility of KPIs, project costs and business performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing reporting, analysis and finance processes.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of relevant experience in insurance finance, FP&A, financial reporting or Big 4 insurance audit.
• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry; life insurance experience is a plus.
• Exposure to IFRS 17 / FRS 117 and understanding of insurance financial results and performance drivers.
• Proven analytical ability to explain drivers behind financial performance.
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder‑management skills and the ability to work across multiple functions.
