Assistant Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis (Insurance)

About the role

We are partnering with an established insurer in Singapore to strengthen its Planning & Analysis team. The Assistant Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will work within a lean finance function, providing direct exposure to senior stakeholders and handling a mix of financial analysis, IFRS 17 performance monitoring, management reporting and project cost management.

Key responsibilities

• Support KPI monitoring and analysis of business and financial performance, including IFRS 17‑related results.
• Analyse financial results, investigate trends and variances, and deliver insights to management.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting and planning activities across the business.
• Monitor project expenditure, budgets and financial performance for ongoing initiatives.
• Prepare management and regional reporting with analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
• Partner with Finance, Actuarial, IT and other functions to gather information, challenge assumptions and support decision‑making.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of experience in insurance finance, FP&A, financial reporting or Big 4 insurance audit.
• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry, preferably life insurance, with exposure to IFRS 17/FRS 117.
• Proven ability to analyse financial results, monitor KPIs and produce management reports.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across multiple functions.

Required skills

• IFRS 17 (and FRS 117) reporting knowledge.
• Power BI and dashboarding experience.
• Reporting automation or data‑analytics tools.
