Assistant Manager, Land (GIS Analyst / Spatial Data Specialist)

About the role

The Land team is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical GIS professional to support the development and implementation of spatial data solutions across the organisation's engineering functions. You will work with complex geospatial datasets, design GIS solutions to address operational challenges and share spatial insights with a wide range of stakeholders, while helping maintain data quality and integrate GIS with other enterprise platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Process and analyse complex spatial datasets to extract insights and patterns that inform decisions.
• Design and implement GIS solutions tailored to business needs and operational challenges.
• Create and maintain spatial databases with a strong focus on data quality and integrity.
• Develop automated workflows and tools to streamline spatial data processing.
• Produce maps, visualisations and reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Work with stakeholders to understand their requirements and propose practical GIS solutions.
• Support the integration of GIS data with other platforms, including BIM systems.
• Document technical processes and keep standard operating procedures up to date.

Required profile

• Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Strong understanding of GIS concepts, spatial analysis techniques and cartographic principles.
• Experience in data analysis; those without work experience but with relevant academic projects and a strong aptitude for GIS are welcome to apply.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical people.

Required skills

• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS and spatial databases.
• Advantageous: knowledge of Python for automation and spatial analysis.
• Advantageous: familiarity with BIM software and integration methods.
