Assistant Manager (O&M Design)

About the role

The company is looking for a Design Manager to take part in the design review and advisory process of building projects from the Planning and Design stage. Acting as Project Advisor, the role covers the project from the Master Planning stage until handover to the FM Operations and Maintenance team, working closely with customers, project managers, design consultants and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Review and advise on project brief, consultant scope, selection process, user requirements and project formation
• Review planning, design and construction requirements from performance, functional, maintenance and operations perspectives, using industry best practice
• Review detail designs and construction proposals against design for maintenance, manufacturing and assembly, life cycle costing, safety, quality assurance, authority requirements and best practice
• Inspect sites, properties, equipment and estates for compliance with quality, maintenance, operations, safety and environmental requirements set by JTC and other government authorities
• Plan and prepare the maintenance and operations strategy, and take part in testing and commissioning
• Manage the defects liability period and the operations and maintenance process after project handover
• Advise on tenancy layouts, fit-outs and works, and drive discussions on FM operations so buildings run efficiently
• Manage contracts with the FMC management team, variations and budget administration
• Review and update processes, work forms, ISO, SOPs and checklists, and document lessons learned and process improvements

Required profile

• Background in architecture, mechanical or electrical engineering, facilities management or a related built environment field
• At least 2 years of experience in design, maintenance, operations setup and project management of building projects
• Strong knowledge of planning and design typologies, including core and shell and fitted-out projects
• Knowledge of O&M of property is an added advantage
