Assistant Nurse Clinician

About the role

RENCI is hiring an Assistant Nurse Clinician who works closely with the Nurse/Care Manager to provide safe, cost-effective and quality nursing care to patients in line with policies, standards of care and professional competencies. The role requires enhanced clinical competence, clinical reasoning and critical thinking, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Implement patient care with multi-disciplinary teams according to assessed needs and health conditions
• Facilitate admissions, transfers and discharges, and follow up and evaluate patient/resident progress
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate early signs of deterioration
• Take part in MDT rounds, execute treatment and investigation orders and assist physicians with bedside procedures
• Discuss resident progress with the MDT and educate patients and families on disease, prevention and rehabilitation
• Help the nursing team solve problems and escalate issues to the Senior Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager
• Review infection control practices, plan in-services for nurses and students, support new initiates and review the clinical performance of new nurses and students
• Act as a clinical resource and supervise use of medical equipment, EMRs and electronic systems, clinical workflows, and co-lead clinical emergencies

Required profile

• Advanced/Diploma in Nursing and/or Bachelor in Nursing
• Valid practicing license with the Singapore Nursing Board
• At least 2 years of experience as SSN I in a clinical setting
• Good judgment, problem-solving skills and grasp of clinical workflow in community hospital and long-term care settings
