Assistant Operations Manager

About the role

You will work closely with Operations, Procurement, Logistics and Customer Service teams to ensure production schedules are executed effectively while maintaining food safety, quality and productivity standards. This role supports the growth of the business by strengthening production capabilities and fostering operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing daily production operations to meet targets, quality standards and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate and monitor production activities, ensuring efficient use of manpower, equipment and materials.
• Supervise production personnel, provide guidance and ensure operational discipline.
• Monitor output, productivity, wastage and downtime, escalating issues as needed.
• Support production planning and scheduling to align with customer demand.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP and other food safety regulations.
• Conduct routine checks on processes, hygiene practices and operational controls.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to investigate issues and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse to secure raw materials and packaging supplies.
• Identify bottlenecks, recommend process improvements and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Supervise, coach and develop production supervisors, team leaders and operators.
• Work with Maintenance to minimise equipment downtime and ensure facilities are clean and well‑maintained.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
