About the role
The School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS) at Singapore Management University seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Computer Science & Engineering. The successful candidate will join a vibrant faculty team and contribute to both research and teaching excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in core and emerging areas of computer science.
- Establish an independent research programme aligned with SCIS strategic priorities.
- Secure external research funding and publish in top‑tier venues.
- Mentor students and junior faculty, and contribute to departmental service.
Required profile
- PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong publication record in high‑impact conferences or journals.
- Demonstrated potential to build a research group in one of the target domains (e.g., AI Governance, Embodied AI, Human‑Centred Software Engineering, Post‑Quantum Cryptography).
- Commitment to high‑quality teaching and community engagement.
Required skills
- Expertise in at least one of the listed research areas.
- Ability to design and implement rigorous empirical or theoretical studies.
- Proficiency in standard research tools and programming environments relevant to the chosen domain.
