Assistant Sommelier

About the role

Le Bon Funk, a neighbourhood wine bar in Singapore, is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Sommelier to support its wine program and daily operations. You will work closely with the Beverage Director and front‑of‑house team to ensure guests receive exceptional wine service and a memorable dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Select and purchase natural wines that complement the menu, staying within budget while showcasing regional knowledge.
• Manage wine storage, aging, and inventory according to standard operating procedures.
• Train front‑of‑house staff on proper wine service, including opening, pouring, decanting, and pairing recommendations.
• Educate guests and staff about wine selections, vintages, and pairing possibilities.
• Assist the Assistant Manager with daily operational targets, petty cash handling, and facility management.
• Handle guest feedback and requests to maintain Le Bon Funk’s high service standards.
• Support front‑of‑house duties as needed, ensuring smooth service flow.

Required profile

• Passion for wine with a solid understanding of wine regions, grape varieties, and vintages.
• Experience in wine service or a related hospitality role.
• Strong communication skills and ability to train and engage staff.
• Detail‑oriented with good organizational and inventory management abilities.
