Assistant/Associate Professor – Assessment & Evaluation

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) at Nanyang Technological University seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor to lead teaching and research in assessment and evaluation. The role involves delivering undergraduate, graduate and professional development courses, advancing the institute's research agenda, and contributing to interdisciplinary collaborations.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and develop courses in assessment, evaluation, applied measurement, applied statistics, research methodology and psychometrics.
• Design curricula and learning materials, integrating educational technology.
• Conduct high‑impact research that informs educational practice and policy, and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Secure research funding, supervise master’s and doctoral students, and mentor junior faculty.
• Establish and maintain collaborations with local and international academic and professional communities.

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent) in evaluation, assessment or a related discipline, or will obtain it by the start date.
• At least four years of successful university‑level teaching experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• For Associate Professor candidates: a sustained independent academic reputation with high‑impact publications and/or major research grants.
