Assistant/Manager – Material Master Data (SAP S/4HANA)

About the role

This position plays a hands‑on role in shaping and implementing Material Master Data governance during a large‑scale SAP ECC to S/4HANA transformation. Working in a fast‑changing environment, you will translate strategic data goals into concrete standards, data dictionaries, and operating procedures while partnering with Business Units, IT, and SAP teams.

Key responsibilities

• Interview business units to define data governance problem statements and objectives.
• Co‑develop the data strategy and establish a data governance council.
• Appoint and onboard data owners and stewards across the organization.
• Implement a new Master Data Management (MDM) platform on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and drive change management.
• Define and operationalize a metadata framework, business glossary, and data dictionary.
• Collaborate with SAP teams to integrate metadata tools with S/4HANA.
• Establish a data quality framework, including metrics, thresholds, and validation processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data governance, master data management, and SAP transformations.
• Ability to work autonomously on ambiguous, high‑priority tasks.
• Strong communication skills to persuade stakeholders and drive adoption.
• Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives with Business Units, IT, and SAP teams.
