Associate Executive, Financial Counselling (Maternity Cover)

About the role

Woodlands Hospital, a next-generation integrated acute and community hospital in Singapore, is hiring an Associate Executive for financial counselling as a maternity cover. The role supports patients in making informed decisions about their care while helping the hospital maintain financial sustainability, working with patients, clinicians, insurers and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial counselling to in-flight patients so they understand treatment costs and can make informed financial decisions
• Refer patients facing financial difficulties to Medical Social Workers and document all counselling in the Financial Counselling system
• Monitor deposits, collect out-of-pocket payments from private patients and obtain additional Medical Claims Authorisation Forms from next-of-kin
• Liaise with employers, Integrated Shield Plan providers and insurers to secure Letters of Guarantee (LOG)
• Escalate complex or high-risk cases to authorities such as the Ministry of Manpower or Legal, with team lead guidance
• Support the team lead with workload distribution, ward allocations and operational coordination
• Help update training materials and run financial counselling refresher sessions
• Take part in process improvement, RPA and AI projects, and support UAT and implementation projects
• Perform other duties assigned by the Reporting Officer

Required profile

• Degree qualification with 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Experience in financial counselling, deposit monitoring or healthcare finance operations is an advantage
• Familiarity with public healthcare financing schemes is a plus
• Willingness to work Saturdays (half-day) based on roster requirements

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
• Strong organisational, analytical and stakeholder management skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
