Associate General Counsel – APAC

About the role

BitGo is seeking a strategic and seasoned legal leader to serve as Associate General Counsel for the APAC region, based in Singapore. In this executive capacity you will oversee legal and regulatory affairs across multiple jurisdictions, providing indispensable counsel to regional leadership and ensuring commercial operations scale efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and execute the regional legal strategy aligned with global business objectives.
• Serve as the primary legal advisor to the APAC leadership team on high‑stakes commercial ventures and regional expansions.
• Oversee corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and government relations across all APAC markets.
• Guide the regional team through complex multijurisdictional regulatory landscapes, including data privacy and financial frameworks.
• Manage disputes, employment matters, and corporate transactions within the region alongside external counsel.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of legal professionals across regional hubs.

Required profile

• Professionally qualified lawyer in Singapore or another major common‑law jurisdiction with exceptional academic credentials.
• Minimum of twelve years of experience, with significant time spent leading regional matters in‑house.
• Deep knowledge of the legal and regulatory environments across key APAC markets such as Southeast Asia, Australia, and Greater China.
• Proven track record of managing distributed legal teams and navigating complex multijurisdictional challenges.
• Outstanding commercial acumen with the ability to balance strict legal compliance against fast‑paced business growth.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder‑management skills to bridge regional operations with global headquarters.
