Associate I – QC Labs, Analytical Science & Technology

About the role

As an Associate I in the Quality Control Labs – Analytical Science & Technology team at Alcon, you will design, qualify and maintain state‑of‑the‑art laboratory equipment that supports product and method lifecycles. You will ensure the lab meets compliance standards and is ready for inspections while driving continuous improvement of QC workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Act as subject‑matter expert for the lifecycle of laboratory testing assets, from selection and procurement to qualification, periodic review, re‑qualification and decommissioning.
• Develop and execute protocols, qualification plans and implementation reports for new equipment and systems within project timelines and budgets.
• Manage equipment calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and corrective actions, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Lead small‑ to medium‑scale projects, assess external standards and regulatory requirements, and implement changes to maintain compliance.
• Serve as the site point of contact for global initiatives related to laboratory testing assets and provide coaching, training and guidance to the team.
• Report non‑conformances, conduct root‑cause analyses and ensure timely completion of all quality and safety activities.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment lifecycle management and quality‑control principles.
• Experience working in a regulated environment and handling compliance documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, cross‑functional teams and global partners.
• Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and project execution.
