Associate Overseas Accounting (Regional - OAD)

About the role

Singapore Airlines is hiring an Associate Overseas Accounting (Regional - OAD) to join its Overseas Accounting department within the SIA Finance Division. The role supports regional stations with internal controls, month-end closing, accounts receivable, general ledger follow-ups, budget and forecasting, and operational accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Internal control: review and complete monthly accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals and cash audit checklist, follow up abnormalities with the accountant and stations, monitor compliance with the Finance Manual and support station queries
• Month-end closing: assist in reviewing station month-end financial closing activities
• Accounts receivable: monitor and ensure prompt clearance of the suspense account, and help stations post entries for account clearance
• General ledger: follow up on defaulted and aged debts to provide provisions for doubtful debt
• Budget and forecasting: partner with station business units on variance analysis of operational expenses, review quarterly Budgetary Control Statement reports and assist in the annual operating budget exercise
• Operational accounting: assist requests for billing to subsidiaries or third parties and handle requests for new SAP access against the Segregation of Duty matrix
• Other: take part in User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements and other assignments and projects as assigned

Required profile

• Diploma in Accountancy or similar
• Meticulous, self-driven, able to work independently and in a team
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight datelines
• Fresh graduates and candidates with work experience are both welcome

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
• IT savvy
