Automated Materials Handling System (AMHS) Technician

About the role

Micron is looking for an AMHS Technician to ensure the reliable operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of its Automated Material Handling System equipment. The role covers monitoring system performance, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and software issues to minimise downtime. It also involves supporting installations, upgrades and calibrations, and working independently in a fast-paced environment, including 12-hour shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the performance and health of assigned AMHS equipment and identify abnormalities early.
• Schedule and carry out preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and software issues.
• Apply structured problem-solving to find root causes and implement long-term corrective actions, with post-maintenance checks.
• Support equipment installations, relocations, calibrations and system upgrades.
• Collaborate with equipment engineers, Shift Operations and tool vendors to maintain system uptime.
• Create, review and update maintenance procedures, work instructions and checklists, and keep accurate maintenance logs and service records.
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and lessons learned, and integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work.

Required profile

• Nitec/Higher Nitec or Diploma in Engineering, or relevant working experience.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task in a fast pace, and follow procedures with minimal supervision.
• Flexible with job responsibilities and shift assignments, including 12-hour shifts.
• Good communication, initiative and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, basic electronics and schematic diagrams.
• Vacuum system knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Intermediate PC skills, including MS Office Suite.
• Understanding of the process flow related to area equipment.
