AVP, Software Engineer in Test - Core Banking Technology

About the role

DBS is hiring an AVP Software Engineer in Test within Group Technology and Operations, based at the DBS Asia Hub. As a Test Lead, you will plan, prepare, coordinate and execute testing for Core Banking solutions and their integrations, turning the programme's testing strategy into test plans, scenarios and cases, and building the testing toolset including AI-powered test case and test data generation.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the testing strategy into test plans, scenarios, detailed test cases and test data patterns.
• Coordinate and execute functional and non-functional testing across Core Banking applications and integrated systems.
• Prepare and maintain the testing toolset, including AI-powered test case and test data generation and other testing accelerators.
• Identify test cases for automation and continuously improve automation coverage.
• Test APIs, UI, file-based interfaces, messaging queues and service mesh-based flows across the ecosystem of DBS applications.
• Track progress on preparation and execution, and coordinate with Business Analysts, Developers, Platform Teams, application teams and business users.
• Contribute to test-cycle completion reports, testing dashboards and automation metrics, and take full accountability for quality and timely completion.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience in software testing, including test leadership and hands-on test automation, in the banking industry.
• Graduation degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of Core Banking systems, business processes, architecture, functionality and data structures.
• Experience with the SunCBS solution by Sunline and with Finacle by Infosys as a Core Banking framework.
• Experience with service mesh, microservices, distributed systems and mainframe technology; testing mainframe systems is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Test plans, test scenarios, test cases, automated scripts and traceability matrices.
• Automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Karate or Postman.
• AI-assisted testing, test case and test data generation, and prompt engineering.
• Java or a comparable language, SQL and test data validation.
• Jira or similar test and defect management tools.
• Agile delivery, SDLC, testing methodologies and defect management.
