AVP/Senior Associate, Authorizer - Structured Trade Operations

About the role

DBS is hiring an AVP/Senior Associate, Authorizer for its Structured Trade Operations within the Institutional Banking Group Operations (IBGO), reporting to the Group COO. Group Operations manages the majority of the bank's operational processes across its banking delivery channels, focusing on productivity, quality and control, technology, people capability and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily trade finance transaction authorization (import/export, SBLC issuance).
• Allocate and distribute ready-to-process transactions to processors at the start of each day, and set their duty rosters.
• Keep workflows customer centric, meeting and exceeding client expectations, and escalate operational issues and risks promptly.
• Ensure transactions comply with operating and compliance procedures and service level agreements.
• Carry out controls on entry reconciliation, investigate and follow up ad-hoc matters, and monitor and escalate operational risk incidents.
• Coach and train staff so they follow department SOPs, bank policies and guidelines, and review policies and procedures for improvement.
• Meet goals and KPIs, take part in ad-hoc projects, and join UAT and LV for system enhancements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years in trade finance operations within a bank, including at least 2 years in authorization, preferably in structured and commodity finance covering import/export and SBLC issuance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgement on transaction monitoring and escalation of red flags, and strong logical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build alliances with the Structured Trade Middle Office, regional trade teams, business units and other stakeholders.

Required skills

• UCP600, ISBP, URC522, ISP98, URR725 and Incoterms.
• SWIFT messages: MT7xx, MT4xx, MT202 and MT103.
