AVP/VP, Problem Management Specialist, SRE & Governance

About the role

DBS Group Technology manages the majority of the bank's operational processes and delivers banking services across multiple channels. This AVP/VP role leads problem management, incident recovery, event management and governance within a complex technology environment, working with cross-functional teams, application owners and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the rapid recovery of high-priority incidents, minimising business impact and restoring banking services on time.
• Drive the Problem Management lifecycle, including root-cause analysis (RCA) and preventive measures to stop recurring issues.
• Oversee Event Management, optimising monitoring systems and alert thresholds to detect anomalies early.
• Collaborate with technology teams, application owners and business stakeholders to maintain service stability.
• Define, monitor and report KPIs, SLAs and operational metrics.
• Facilitate post-incident reviews and prepare technical reports and action plans for senior leadership.
• Identify and implement automation and continuous process improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT Service Management (ITSM), focused on Incident, Problem and Event Management in a complex environment.
• Deep understanding of ITIL frameworks; relevant ITIL certifications are highly advantageous.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, 24/7 operational environment.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics or Geneos.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Communication and stakeholder management skills, able to explain complex technical information clearly.
