Backend Engineer (Node.js) – Digital Payments Platform

About the role

Akkodis is seeking a Backend Engineer with strong JavaScript/Node.js expertise to join a global digital payments client. You will help build a next‑generation mobile payment platform that enables secure proximity and e‑commerce transactions for banks and enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure backend services using Node.js.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices that support mobile payment applications.
• Create cloud‑based backend solutions that integrate with mobile SDKs and enterprise platforms.
• Ensure secure integration with authentication services, payment gateways, and cloud infrastructure.
• Develop management platforms and dashboards for system monitoring and administration.
• Collaborate with mobile SDK teams to deliver robust backend integrations and design secure API architectures.
• Apply object‑oriented design principles, contribute to platform enhancements, and participate in R&D initiatives.
• Write unit tests, set up automated testing, and work with CI/CD pipelines for efficient delivery.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide Level 3 technical support when required.
• Partner with mobile developers, security engineers, architects, and product teams to deliver high‑quality payment solutions in a regulated environment.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in JavaScript backend development (Node.js).
• Proven experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
