Banquet Captain – Marina Bay, Singapore

About the role

The Banquet Captain leads the banquet team on the Commonwealth floor or ballroom level, ensuring seamless execution of meetings, lunches, and cocktail receptions. Reporting to the Banquet Operations Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for meeting planners and guests, delivering high‑standard service in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise banquet staff, ensuring teamwork, proper grooming, and uniform compliance.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setup of supplies, equipment cleaning, and securing the venue.
• Maintain organized storage areas using FIFO principles and conduct regular inventories.
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, safety, and guest satisfaction.
• Complete work orders for maintenance and coordinate with facilities.
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching team members.
• Uphold company safety policies, report incidents, and complete required safety certifications.
• Welcome guests, address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and ensure a courteous experience.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on teamwork.
• Ability to work physically demanding shifts, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lb.
• Attention to detail for grooming, cleanliness, and inventory management.
• Commitment to safety, confidentiality, and company policies.
