Business Analyst Traineeship – Government Innovation Programme

About the role

You will support the Assistant Director of OneNS Product Management in translating the National Service (NS) Business Architecture into operational outcomes. Working across MINDEF/SAF and DSTA, you will apply proven improvement methodologies to re‑engineer processes, conduct UX research, and map capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Support business process re‑engineering across Operations, Training, NS Policy, HR, and IT.
• Document as‑is processes, design to‑be processes, and perform gap analysis.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking or TOGAF to create simpler, faster future‑state processes.
• Facilitate co‑design workshops with stakeholders to secure buy‑in.
• Translate re‑engineered processes into product and system requirements.
• Lead UX research, usability testing, and user‑journey mapping for key population groups.
• Develop and execute change‑management strategies to ensure adoption of new processes and systems.

Required profile

• Education in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Public Policy or related field.
• Experience or interest in digital strategy, enterprise IT, or business transformation.
• Familiarity with large, complex organisations or public‑sector environments.
• Understanding of enterprise architecture, SaaS/cloud delivery, and business capability modelling.
