Business Development (Energy Transition & Environmental Markets)

About the role

Abaxx Exchange and Clearing is looking for an entrepreneurial senior professional to lead product development and market expansion in energy transition and environmental derivatives. The role will shape the go‑to‑market strategy and drive liquidity for carbon, renewable energy and related environmental products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies to position Abaxx as a leader in energy transition derivatives.
• Design, develop and launch carbon, renewable energy (wind, solar, temperature) and other environmental derivative products.
• Identify and address inefficiencies in OTC markets by creating exchange‑based solutions that improve transparency and risk management.
• Assess regional regulatory, tax and market structure considerations influencing carbon and environmental trading.
• Build and manage senior‑level relationships with utilities, corporates, governments, financial institutions and asset managers.
• Collaborate with clearing, operations, technology, legal and compliance teams to ensure robust post‑trade processes and market access.

Required profile

• 10‑15+ years of experience in commodities, derivatives and environmental markets with a strong global network.
• Proven track record in product development, market building or trading, and demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience driving revenue growth, client acquisition and liquidity development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures and jurisdictions.
