Business Development Manager – ASEAN Region

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead the company’s growth across 11 ASEAN markets, shaping regional strategies, building partnerships and ensuring compliance. This senior position reports to senior management and coordinates cross‑functional teams to achieve ambitious business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional business strategies and growth plans for Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor‑Leste and Vietnam.
• Identify and pursue new opportunities with agents, distributors, schools, universities and corporate clients.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, industry associations and educational institutions.
• Design and execute country‑specific market expansion plans tailored to local conditions.
• Monitor sales performance, revenue, KPIs, market trends and competitor activities.
• Represent the company at meetings, conferences, trade shows and networking events.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance and Management teams for coordinated execution.
• Recruit, mentor and manage country representatives or local teams.
• Prepare regular performance reports, market analyses and forecasts for senior leadership.
• Ensure all activities comply with local laws and regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing and executing regional business strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage local representatives.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with government bodies, partners and educational institutions.
• Experience designing country‑specific market expansion plans.
• Ability to analyse sales data, KPIs and market trends.
• Excellent communication skills for representing the company at external events.
• Collaboration experience with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance and Management functions.
• Track record of recruiting, mentoring and supporting regional teams.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements across ASEAN jurisdictions.
