Buyer (B3) - Manufacturing Supply

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for chips and advanced displays, is hiring a Buyer (B3) in Singapore. The Buyer purchases the materials, supplies, machinery and services that equip the company's manufacturing facilities, working across teams to monitor inventory, manage delivery schedules, negotiate with suppliers and procure essential items.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity so manufacturing runs with speed and quality.
• Execute and manage pull-ins and push-outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Lead a cross-functional team to resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, program managers and supplier account management.
• Drive purchasing activities to buy at the lowest cost while considering quality, supplier reliability and urgency of need.
• Lead inventory and E&Z reduction efforts.
• Manage assigned purchasing projects, including cost, schedule and scope.
• Handle complex and sensitive information with supplier leadership and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to purchasing process improvement and act as trainer for department purchasing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 2-4 years of experience.
• Preferred: strong knowledge of industry best practices, key business drivers and market competition.
• Preferred: demonstrated leadership skills to lead small projects and build consensus.
