Buyer – Cable, Electrical Harness & Power Procurement

About the role

Oversee procurement, logistics, and production planning to ensure seamless operations, cost efficiency, and timely delivery while maintaining quality standards. The Buyer will manage supplier negotiations, inventory levels, and support engineering change processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee procurement, logistics, and production planning to ensure smooth operational flow and timely delivery.
• Drive cost savings by negotiating competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and shortened lead times with suppliers.
• Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers for components and materials locally and overseas.
• Assess supplier capabilities and reliability to ensure quality and delivery standards are met.
• Support Engineering Change processes by ensuring data accuracy and collaborating with suppliers.
• Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production demands without excess stock.
• Prepare weekly purchasing reports detailing procurement activities to improve operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree holder.
• Minimum 3–5 years purchasing experience in contract manufacturing, focusing on cable, harness, or electromechanical assemblies.
• Proficient in MS Office with strong Excel skills.
• Strong negotiating skills for contracts and pricing with suppliers.
• Ability to assess market trends and supplier performance for strategic decisions.
• Good commercial acumen and understanding of overall business.
