Buyer/Planner – Supply Chain & Materials Management

About the role

KLA is seeking a Buyer/Planner to support its Global Operations team by ensuring timely availability of direct materials, components and equipment for new product launch (NPL) programs and ongoing production.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and purchase direct materials, components and equipment based on purchase requisitions, MRP or reorder point systems.
• Review planning reports to guarantee material availability for production and act as the single point of contact for engineering changes.
• Drive gross‑margin improvements through supplier negotiations, hedging, VMI programs and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Manage supplier quality, capacity and delivery issues, and communicate early or delayed deliveries.
• Oversee EOL material purchases, last‑time‑buys, and support engineering on alternative sourcing.
• Execute ECN/ECO changes promptly to avoid production impact and develop actions to reduce excess inventory.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in NPI material buying, tool planning or production planning, preferably in a low‑volume high‑mix manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of complex multi‑level Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; experience with SAP and MRP systems is highly desirable.
