Casualty Underwriting Assistant

About the role

Starr Insurance is seeking a Casualty Underwriting Assistant to support the Casualty team. You will work closely with underwriters in Singapore and Australia, handling the administration of accounts throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Administer assigned accounts, collecting information from brokers for risk analysis.
• Liaise with underwriters, brokers, and the Operations & Systems Unit to communicate account status and complete subjectivities.
• Prepare policy issuance instructions, endorsements, forms, and notices.
• Perform pre‑analysis support for submissions, renewals, and endorsements based on underwriting guidelines.
• Ensure underwriting packages are complete before handover to underwriters.
• Analyze client needs and translate them into policy specifications.
• Conduct quality control on rating output and process premium changes.
• Maintain electronic files for regulatory and audit purposes.
• Generate broker correspondence using email or eFax and compile supporting account details.
• Collaborate with Operations & Systems and Finance units as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of insurance or administrative experience.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret and execute underwriting instructions accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
