Category Sourcing Manager / Buyer (Indirect Regional)

About the role

Micron is looking for highly motivated graduates to join its global Procurement team as a Category Sourcing Manager (CSM) / Buyer. The role acts as a key point of contact for supplier engagement, category management and strategic sourcing, working with cross-functional teams and using digital and AI-enabled tools to drive data-driven decisions and improve supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier performance and strategic supplier relationships for assigned categories, acting as the main point of contact with suppliers
• Work with Facilities, Engineering, Finance, Operations and Global Procurement teams
• Own end-to-end sourcing and procurement: supplier selection, RFx processes, contract negotiations and supplier performance reviews
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, service agreements and contracts
• Use data analytics, digital tools and emerging AI technologies to generate sourcing insights and improve decision-making
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline procurement processes
• Drive cost reduction, CAPEX planning, budgeting, cash flow management and reporting of savings and supplier performance
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards, support supplier audits and mitigate supply chain risks

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related discipline
• Strong interest in procurement, supply chain and strategic sourcing
• Interest in AI, data analytics, automation and digital transformation
• Analytical, communication and collaboration skills, with a growth mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced global environment
