Childcare Cook – Preschool Kitchen

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Childcare Cook to join Nest Preschool Hillview. You will be responsible for preparing healthy meals and snacks for children aged 0‑12, ensuring food safety and a welcoming dining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, snacks and beverages in line with HMCCP guidelines.
• Maintain high hygiene standards during food preparation, handling and serving.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized using daily, weekly and monthly checklists.
• Manage grocery and kitchen equipment purchases with Head of School approval.
• Assist with cleanliness and hygiene in other school areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Support centre operations by helping with additional duties as required by campus leadership.

Required profile

• WSQ Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (mandatory).
• Prior experience in childcare centres or hospitality kitchens is highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of child nutrition and food safety.
• Ability to cook efficiently for large groups.
• Strong sense of cleanliness, responsibility and organization.
