Civil Construction Project Engineer

About the role

The Civil Construction Project Engineer will lead the execution and successful completion of construction projects, ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery. This role involves developing construction programmes, evaluating techniques, and coordinating with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor master and short‑term construction programmes to meet project milestones.
• Evaluate construction techniques and method statements to optimise efficiency and safety.
• Perform simple design calculations to support technical decisions during execution.
• Oversee daily project operations, resolve issues promptly and supervise progress against plans.
• Identify and resolve technical problems on site to minimise delays and cost overruns.
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants and subcontractors to facilitate smooth operations.
• Verify that construction activities comply with drawings, certifications and quality requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors across projects to ensure seamless collaboration.
• Implement and oversee the Project Quality Plan to maintain high standards.
• Enforce safety regulations and promote good housekeeping practices on site.
• Manage the processing and finalisation of claims to support financial closure.

Required profile

• Professional experience in civil construction project execution.
• Ability to develop and monitor construction programmes and ensure milestone achievement.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to address technical issues on site.
• Effective communication with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
