Classroom Assistant

About the role

The Classroom Assistant supports the classroom teacher in delivering a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Working closely with learners, the assistant helps facilitate both group and individual activities, ensuring that educational goals are met.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, healthy, and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
• Assist learners with instructions, provide feedback, and encourage independent learning.
• Supervise children during activities, library time, school trips, and IT use.
• Support personal and social development, including language reinforcement.
• Liaise with the school nurse for first‑aid or medication administration.
• Record daily attendance, update communication books, and collect evidence of learning.
• Prepare and manage teaching materials, AV and IT equipment, photocopying, and laminating.
• Participate in staff meetings, performance reviews, and professional development.

Required skills
