Clinical Instructor

About the role

The Clinical Instructor will lead training and education initiatives for nursing staff and students within a hospital setting. This role ensures a high‑quality clinical learning environment and supports the development of competent nursing professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programmes for nursing staff, students and non‑nursing volunteers.
• Establish and maintain an optimal clinical learning environment.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate a preceptorship scheme to support new staff.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and assist Nurse Managers in maintaining staff competencies.
• Coordinate unit‑based generic and specialty clinical training activities.
• Plan, implement and evaluate unit‑based and discipline‑based training courses.
• Ensure orientation, continuing education and competency standards are met.
• Assist in developing and implementing nursing standards and monitor patient care delivery.
• Act as a resource for Nurse Managers on clinical nursing and training matters.
• Apply medico‑legal principles to safeguard patient care and conduct summative assessments.
• Develop hospital‑based training aligned with Ministry of Health requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• At least 6 years of clinical care experience.
• Preferably a Specialist Diploma in Clinical Education or a Clinical Instructor Certificate.
• Preferably prior experience as a Clinical Instructor.
