Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Compute)

About the role

Assurity Trusted Solutions (ATS), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Government Technology Agency (GovTech), is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to manage and operate hybrid cloud infrastructure for Whole of Government digital services. The role covers hyperconverged infrastructure, physical servers, backup services and cloud solutions across multiple providers (Azure, AWS).

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain infrastructure solutions on-premises and in the cloud (Azure, AWS) for reliable government digital services.
• Act as technical subject matter expert for compute, storage, backup and virtualisation, giving architectural guidance and best practices.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager templates) and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment.
• Implement security controls and resource optimisation across Windows Server and Linux environments in line with government technology standards.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex infrastructure issues and work with development teams, stakeholders and vendors.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures and disaster recovery plans.
• Take part in on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure.

Required profile

• Knowledge or experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure operations and engineering, with strong expertise in virtualisation platforms (VMware/Nutanix) and enterprise backup solutions.
• Practical experience with Azure and AWS, supported by relevant certifications; candidates without direct experience but with relevant certification are also welcome.
• Experience in public sector projects and understanding of government security compliance frameworks is a plus.
