College Intern – Materials Science & Engineering

About the role

As a College Intern at Applied Materials, you will work alongside experienced chemists and engineers on cutting‑edge semiconductor packaging technologies. The role offers hands‑on laboratory experience in deposition, surface characterization, and data analysis within a supportive, safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist chemists in designing experiments, including deposition processes and surface characterizations.
• Collect experimental data, perform analysis, and compile detailed reports.
• Generate internal and external documentation for presentations and technical reports.
• Maintain laboratory safety standards and follow established protocols.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support ongoing research projects.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or experience in chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with laboratory experiments is preferred.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving abilities; able to work independently or in a team.
• Understanding of semiconductor devices and processes through relevant coursework is advantageous.
