Commercial Manager – Road Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead road construction projects in Singapore. The role combines strategic oversight of commercial activities with hands‑on management of contracts, budgets and stakeholder relationships to ensure profitable project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all commercial activities across road construction projects, ensuring alignment with contract terms and timelines.
• Prepare, review and submit progress claims in line with contract requirements and milestones.
• Track project budgets, flag variances and recommend corrective actions to senior management.
• Evaluate subcontractor claims and collaborate with procurement to achieve cost‑effective contract administration.
• Assess commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Coordinate with project and site teams to gather accurate cost and progress data for monthly reporting.
• Support preparation and negotiation of variation orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and authorities on commercial and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate records of contract correspondence, claims and decisions in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to tendering activities by reviewing contract terms, preparing cost estimates and providing commercial input.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of commercial management experience in road or civil construction projects.
• Familiarity with Singapore standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, SIA, PWD) and strong knowledge of LTA contract administration is strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation abilities with clear communication skills for cross‑functional and external stakeholders.
